4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With third-party vendors who assist us in operating the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processing, analytics). These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Your Content

Your recordings and content are stored securely. By default, your content is private and only accessible via links you choose to share. You control who can access your content through sharing settings and password protection features.

We do not access, view, or analyze the contents of your recordings except as necessary to provide the Service (e.g., transcription features you enable) or when required by law.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Access controls and authentication requirements
  • Secure cloud infrastructure

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After account deletion:

  • Your account information is deleted within 30 days
  • Your content is deleted within 30 days
  • Some information may be retained longer for legal, tax, or accounting purposes
  • Anonymized data may be retained for analytics

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal information
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information
  • Export: Request a portable copy of your data
  • Opt-out: Opt out of marketing communications
  • Cookie Controls: Change your analytics and advertising choices at any time, from the Cookie preferences link in our footer or your dashboard account settings, and in your browser settings as well

To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@quicksnip.com.

9. Cookies, tracking and your choices

We use cookies and similar technologies for a few different things.

  • Essential cookies: Required for the Service to function, such as staying signed in and keeping the site secure. These stay on no matter what you choose below.
  • Analytics cookies: Help us understand how people use the site, which pages they visit, and where they get stuck. We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity for this.
  • Advertising cookies: Help us measure which ads bring people to QuickSnip. We use the Meta pixel for this. The Meta pixel only runs on our marketing pages, never on a shared recording, an image link, or an embed.

If you're in the EU or EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, or if we can't tell where you're visiting from, we don't set analytics or advertising cookies until you choose. Everywhere else, they run by default unless you tell us not to.

Analytics and advertising are separate choices, so you can accept one, both, or neither. Whichever you pick is stored in a first-party cookie for six months, whether you accept or decline, and you can change your mind at any time.

To change your mind, use the Cookie preferences link in the site footer, or account settings in your dashboard. Changing your choice takes effect right away. It stops further calls to any vendor you turn off, and deletes the cookies we've set for them on our own domain (the Google Analytics cookies, Clarity's _clck and _clsk, and Meta's _fbp and _fbc).

Turning a vendor off can't reach back and delete data it already collected, and it can't remove anything that vendor stores on its own domain. If you want that too, use the vendor's own privacy controls, or your browser settings, alongside ours.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with or contain links to third-party services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party services, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Third-party services we use include:

  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • Cloud storage providers
  • Analytics services

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

12. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
